Finalist: Swept Away

Belton, Texas-04/02/2023 It's been almost ten years since the Boston Marathon Bombing on April 15, 2013, and a lot has changed sincethen for victim Marc Fucarile, 44. He carries Niki through a field of Bluebonnet wildflowers growing in a field near their home. Niki loves these flowers and wanted to see them as they are in full bloom. Fucarile has been dealing since the bombing with PTSD and has extensive physical therapy still. He had his right leg blown off high above his knee when the second bomb exploded. Niki is a congenital triple amputee and needs assistance in daily life activities. They were married in November of 2021. Marc also live in Woburn, Mass. where he has shared custody of his son from his first marriage. He met Niki at a convention in Florida.
